Light vs Dark

Amazing how society influences the things we do now a days. I'm on my way out of the office and I happen to stumble upon a conversation that my co-worker is having with her interns and the topic being discussed was "light skin woman vs. dark skin woman" which I found very interesting because the one kid who happened to be a good friend of mine didn't think that many dark skin girls were "pretty" and if they were it was a rare thing....Crazy, I know...Like I saw some of his view points but some just had me like wtF?!. I understood the fact that he preferred light skin over dark skin because its what he's generally attracted to but 2.5 hrs of discussion and he couldn't open his eyes to anything pass that...I'd hate to call it ignorance but in some smalllll way this is what it wasand it's not his fault, I can't really blame em though because on the low this is what society has planted in our heads, which to me--in 2007 is absurd. I'm a picky girl, I will admit that but as far as light vs dark...It's whatever! Yes physical features play a big part because this is the first thing you see a majority of the time but all that shit isn't neccesarily what attracts me to someone--if ya minds right too then I'm all yours 'cause if it's one thing that I stay away from is someone who doesn't have a good head on their shoulders. I'm not saying you have to be the richest man in the world but if I see you tryna be the richest man in the world, if i see that determination then I can't help but stay. Society is a motherfucker and it can either make you or break you but sometimes you gotta learn to not give a fuck...true story. Damn, I just went in something serious.
